Iva Mae Jackson

Iva Mae Kimbril Jackson passed on April 30, 2026, at the age of 95, having been born on July 8, 1930, and residing in Gardendale, Alabama.

She began her career at UAB in Accounts Payable after her children graduated from high school and retired at age 62 with 18 years of dedicated service.

She married her childhood friend and her one and only love, Rev. Dillard C. Jackson. They began their life together in Arkadelphia, Alabama, later moving to Birmingham and settling in Gardendale, where they raised their children, Mom and Dad were partners both in marriage and ministry. Her gift was the work of her hands and everything she touched shined.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dillard C. Jackson; her son, Gregory L. Jackson; her parents, Jennie Lou and Cecil Kimbril; and her sister, Lou Doss. She is survived by her daughter, Sheree, and husband Ralph Mitchell, son-in-love; her grandchild, Jennifer, and husband, Danner Kline; and her great grandchildren, Anne Camille and Rett.

Mom loved and treasured her family and friends and they loved her. With her sharp mind at 95 and love for the Braves, she passed peacefully and now rests in the arms of Jesus.

In lieu of flowers our family request a donation in her name be made to the Jimmie Hale Mission in Birmingham, AL.
