It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Filion Quinn on June 17th, 2026, at the age of 97, surrounded by her family.
Jacqueline was the last survivor of her large family. She was predeceased by her parents, Napoleon Filion and Aldina Dansereau, her brother Jean-Paul Filion (Celine Hamel) and 15 half-brothers and sisters. She leaves many nieces and nephews in Cornwall and throughout Ontario.
Jackie was married to the love of her life, Wilfred Quinn for 69 years. He passed away in March of 2022 leaving her last years lonelier than she wanted to admit. She is survived by her daughters Karen (Peter Taylor) and Paula. Grand’Mere will be greatly missed by grandsons, Austin (Christine Matthews), Adam (Tania Costa) and Riley (Jennie Carriere). At the time of her passing she was also a great-grandmother to Isabella, Adrian, Everly, Preston, Sophie and Louie.
She was a force of nature, always insisting that her girls “sit at the front of the class” as she maintained nothing was ever learned in the last row. She balanced a busy career, a home in the city and a country home for many years. Friday nights were always associated with packing up to go somewhere. She kept the ship going and Wilf always said she was the best thing that ever happened to him. Their retirement years were divided between Florida in the winter and their home on the 9th fairway in Cornwall ON. Their love was unique, strong, and everlasting. They are finally together again.
The family would like to thank CHSLD Bayview and their staff, particularly Fatou, Patricia, Donna, Mona and Josephine, for the loving care given to Jackie in the last year of her life. Their professionalism, dedication and support will never be forgotten.
