James Wilson Dunagan, 98, a resident of Edgewater, passed away September 3, 2026. Born August 28, 1928 in New Windsor, MD to the late Carlos and Gladys Dunagan. He graduated in 1946 from Chrisman Township High School, Chrisman, IL. He attended Illinois State University earning a B.S. in Education and the University of Maryland earning a M.S. in Education. He married Ida-Ann Sears on July 2, 1964.
He worked for the Anne Arundel County Board of Education Public School System from November, 1951 until July, 1982, in many capacities; Teacher, Principal of Arundel Sr. High School, Administrator, Director. Afterwards, he began 37 years of RVing, travelling and staying in all 50 of the United States, while holding many positions with the Avion Travelcade Club. He enjoyed travelling, reading, and being with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ida-Ann Dunagan, brother Richard Dunagan, and sisters Mary Jane Dunagan and Sandra Anderson. He is survived by his nieces, nephews, relatives, and many dear friends.
