Jamie Erin Vanzant

Jamie Erin (Collier) Vanzant, affectionately known as Jamie, and her twin brother Jefferey Collier was born on May 9, 1984, to James E. Collier Jr. and Carolyn Jean Collier in Evanston, Illinois. At birth Jamie weighed 1.4 lbs. and Jefferey weighed 1.9 lbs. Jefferey passed one day later due to complications. We called Jamie our “Miracle Baby”.

Jamie professed faith and hope in Christ she was baptized at St Angela Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois, where she was an Altar Server and Catechist Assistant. She received the Father Augustus Tolton award for her extraordinary volunteer service. She loved and served the youth and all people of her faith community. Jamie was a Christian who was humble and meek at heart.

Jamie received her education at St Angela Catholic Grammar School, Trinity Catholic High School, and Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas. She also, studied bio medical engineering at UTA in Arlington Texas and psychiatry at Phoenix University.

Jamie loved to sing and dance, we often heard her singing and dancing in her bedroom upstairs. She was an avid writer. She wrote songs, stories and scriptures daily. She participated in various employment fields (banking, logistics and health Care) in Illinois, California, and Texas. She was employed by KS Home Health Services in Lancaster Texas.

Our Beloved daughter Jamie was called home on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 7:16 pm. She leaves to cherish her memory: her parents: James E. Collier Jr. and Carolyn Jean Collier, one sister Tambra (Keith) Palmore, one brother James E Collier III; grandmother Clara Shields (California) aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, (Katrice Osborne - her best friend) and a host of other relatives, and friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by her Beloved daughter Ronni Carolyn Ransom, two brothers John L. Branch Jr. and Jefferey Collier, grandmother Clytie Collier, and grandfathers Kenny Shields Sr. and James Collier Sr.
