Janet Patricia Slabaugh, age 69, of Roseville, passed on August 16, 2026. She was born March 17, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan to Harry A. and Patricia (McCarthy) Gorney. Janet graduated from Roseville Community Schools. She worked in retail for many years, including 20 years at Meijer and 10 years at Target. Janet also worked as a photographer for a Swedish sportswriter. Janet loved animals; she owned 3 horses, a turtle, a rabbit, and dogs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janet is survived by her mother, Patricia Gorney; her brother, Ron (Cheryl Norman) Gorney; her nephews, Ron (Danielle) Gorney, Derek (Nicole) Gorney; great nieces and great-nephews, Dillon, Rece, Devon, Sophia, Sabrina. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry A. Gorney.
Visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066, US, on August 23, 2026, from 2:00 pm until a Funeral Service at 6:00 pm. Inurnment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan.
