Jerry Clayton Waller

Jerry C. Waller, 73, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, integrity, and deep devotion to those he loved. Born on August 26, 1952, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Julius C. and Janice C. Waller, Jerry carried the steady, resilient spirit of his hometown throughout his life.

Jerry graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1970 and soon felt called to serve his country. In 1972, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably in Germany as a German interpreter for the Military Police. His years abroad shaped his disciplined mind and broadened his understanding of the world, experiences that remained with him long after his service ended in 1975.

In 1981, Jerry married Tammy Childs, beginning a lifelong partnership built on mutual respect, loyalty, and devotion. He continued to pursue his education, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mesa State University in 1986 and later completing advanced coursework toward a Master of Public Administration at the University of Utah. Jerry approached learning with the same thoughtful curiosity that defined every part of his life.

Known for his gentle, soft spoken nature, Jerry never needed to raise his voice to make an impact. His calm presence, thoughtful observations, and steady demeanor were felt by all who knew him. He found his greatest peace in the outdoors, fishing quiet waters, camping beneath the western sky, and appreciating the simple, grounding beauty of nature. These moments reflected who he was: patient, observant, and deeply connected to the world around him.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; his brother, Greg (Diane) Waller; and his sister, Cindy DiGregorio. His family will forever cherish his kindness, his wisdom, and the quiet strength he brought into their lives.
