Jerry Leroy Brooks, 74, was born on August 3, 1951, and passed away on July 31, 2026. He was born in Houston, Texas. He lived his later years in Normangee.
A man of heartfelt warmth and enduring loyalty, Jerry was family oriented and carried a big heart that showed itself in the way he valued the people he loved. He found genuine enjoyment in the simple, meaningful pleasures of life, especially fishing and hunting, where patience and appreciation for the outdoors met the calm satisfaction of time well spent.
Jerry also took pride in the traditions that brought people together. He especially treasured the holidays—gatherings made richer by laughter, togetherness, and the comfort of a favorite family recipe of homemade hot rolls. He loved the Dallas Cowboys football team, and that enthusiasm—faithful and familiar—was part of the rhythm of his days. His favorite color was red, a small detail remembered with affection and clarity by those who knew him best.
In his final moments, Jerry’s thoughts remained with others. His final words were, “Tell everyone I love them,” a lasting reflection of the love he carried and the bonds he held close.
Jerry Leroy Brooks will remain present in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
