Jo Kimbro Smith

Jo Kimbro Smith, aged 99 years & 8 months of Del City, Oklahoma, was born on 12/25/1926 in Bradley, Oklahoma. She departed this life on 8/21/2026 in Del City, Oklahoma. Jo was preceded in death by her father, Clarence T Kimbro, mother Louella May Foster (nee. Elledge), sister Madeline Stallings and brother Wayne Kimbro.

Jo graduated from the Crooked Oak School system in 1945. She was on the school basketball team and played snare drum in the high school band.

Early on, Jo worked at Browns in Oklahoma City as an elevator operator and a soda jerk.

She married Farrel James Smith in Seminole County on January 4th, 1953.

Jo worked at the VA Hospital for many years. She also worked at Bell Telephone as a PBX operator. Jo then worked as a secretary at Caddo Chem Can Company.

Her last full-time job was at Tinker AFB as a civil servant. She worked there for over 25 years. (Not many folks knew she had top secret security clearance and could disassemble and reassemble a 45 automatic pistol!)

Jo is survived by her five children: Fara, Mark, Jonathan, David and Rachel; five grandchildren: Alicia, Joshua, Tory, Kaitlyn and Gavin; five great-grandchildren: Brianna, Stori, Shayna, Gabriel and Seth; and two great-great grandchildren: Aurora and Pleiade.

Jo was an extremely faithful follower of God. This showed in her willingness to share her life and faith with everyone around her.

She was a thoughtful, caring and loving mother to her family.

Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115.

A graveside service will take place at 10am Thursday, August 27th at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115.
