Joan Hoffman Kuwalik, age 94, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on Thursday April 30, 2026.
Joan was born on October 20, 1931 to John Charles "Charley" and Verna Hoffman in Kearney, New Jersey. After Joan graduated from Kearny High School in 1950, she worked for Bell Systems Telephone and later as a Finance Administrator with IBM.
On April 7, 1956, Joan married Leonard Kuwalik in Kearny, New Jersey. Leonard and Joan went on to have three children, Leonard Jr., Karen, and John.
In 1988, Joan retired from IBM. She spent her retirement years enjoying a variety of activities and hobbies, traveling the world, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children, Leonard Jr. (Heather) of The Villages, FL, Karen (Bryan) of NC, and John (Matthew) of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Emma.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, her parents, John Charles "Charley" and Verna, as well as her two sisters, and a brother.
A Graveside service was held on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 11:00am at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.
