John C Harlan

11 juin 2026 Hudson, Quebec Dignity Memorial

John Curtis Harlan, age 63, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, surrounded by his family. While his absence leaves a quiet space in our hearts, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

John was born on November 25, 1963, in San Francisco, California, and lived a life defined by kindness, morality, brilliance and generosity. Known for his drive for perfection and his deep devotion to helping others, John brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

John found happiness in his Masonic brotherhood, volunteering at Camp St. Andrews, working at AECO Systems, participating in the Scottish Highland games, sharing his gift of music, his pet turkey, and his dog rescue work. He had a special gift for solving the seemingly impossible, sharing random trivia, and making people feel safe and supported.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Melissa Lawrence; his cherished daughter, Carolyn Harlan; his loving siblings, Vicki Baker (Errol), Cindy Cuevas, Penny Nuttall (Darren), and Hal Harlan; along with many others whose lives were brightened by his presence.

In honoring John, we remember not the sadness of goodbye, but the happiness and love he shared so freely and all he taught us. The family encourages all who knew him to celebrate life in his spirit: be kind, laugh loudly, enjoy all the little moments, and remember that bad decisions make good stories.

Donations to the American Cancer Society, Lazy Daisy Rescue, and Camp St. Andrews – San Bruno are welcomed in honor of John.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA 95326, on Sunday, June 28, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow.
