John Grandison Delamater, of College Station, passed away at the age of 74 on May 4, 2026.
John was born in San Antonio on May 20, 1951. He was an “Army Brat” and lived all over the United States and the world growing up; but, settled in the College Station area in 1970.
John obtained two Bachelor’s Degrees from Texas A&M University. He served in the U.S. Army on active and reserve duty. John was a long-term employee of Kent Moore Cabinets.
John was very active in sports growing up and was usually on a varsity team from his sophomore year on through high school graduation. He is a graduate of Caldwell High School, Class of 1969.
John is survived by his brother, Benjamin F. Delamater IV and his wife Elizabeth. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas A. Delamater; three nieces, Arin, Kathy, and Maggie; one nephew, David; and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin F. Delamater III and Anna V. Delamater; and his nephew, John Robert Delamater.
A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in College Station on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
