Joni Jones Pierce

Joni Elizabeth Jones Pierce, age 59, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on May 19, 2026.

Joni was born and raised in Kenner, Louisiana, where she graduated from Bonnabel High School before later making Mobile her home. She was an honors graduate of the University of Mobile School of Nursing and worked for many years at Premier Medical.

Joni was a strong and loving woman who raised a child on her own while attending nursing school, showing a determination and resilience that inspired those around her. In 2000, she married Randy Pierce, and together they built a loving family and welcomed their second daughter.

She was known for her great sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and the warmth she brought to everyone she met. Her greatest passions in life were her family — especially her children and grandchildren — along with her beloved pets, whom she loved deeply. Joni’s kindness, laughter, strength, and unconditional love will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Pierce; her daughters, Erin Montalban and Julia Pierce, both of Mobile; Erin’s husband, Timothy Montalban; her granddaughters, Collins and Reese; and a grandchild expected later this year. She is also survived by two brothers, Scott Jones of Stafford, Virginia, and Steven Jones of Daphne, Alabama; her sister, Wendy O’Shea of Saraland, Alabama; as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Charles Jones, and her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Jones.

A Celebration of Joni's life will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
