Jorge Delgado

Jorge was born on November 21, 1964, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, to Miguel Angel Delgado Lozano and Maria Teresa Brizuela Gonzalez. He migrated to the US in the 90's and later made Irmo, South Carolina his home.

For over 36 years, he worked in the restaurant industry for businesses such as Monterey’s in his early years and most recently at San Jose Express on Highway 378 in Lexington, South Carolina. People would make the drive out to his work just to spend some time with him which tells you what type of man he was. Jorge was the kindest and most genuine man you ever met, his smile was contagious and he never met a stranger. Jorge loved spending time with his family and friends. His passion for soccer inspired him to create teams for local soccer leagues in Columbia, SC where he made many friends and memories.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Delgado (54) and his son Jorge Delgado Rodriguez (23) and his five siblings Miguel Delgado, Teresa Delgado, Marcela Delgado, Ramon Delgado and Ezbaide Delgado.

He was preceded in death by his parents Miguel Angel Delgado Lozano and Maria Teresa Brizuela Gonzalez, his sister Juana Patricia Delgado, brothers Alejandro Delgado and Rafael Delgado.

Jorge’s family would like to thank family and friends for their out pour of love and support during this time.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church,

120 Marydale Lane, Columbia, South Carolina 29210, on September 23, 2026, at 10:00 am. Visitation will follow at Dunbar Funeral Home - Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo, South Carolina 29063, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
