Josefina Duran entered eternal rest on June 6, 2026, surrounded by her family at home. She was born on June 1, 1939, in Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Rómulo Castillo and Maximiana Flores. Josefina was a woman of great faith, strength, and love.
She is survived with deep sorrow by thirteen children: Yolanda (Alberto) Obregon, Jose Santos (Rosa Isela) Duran, Jaime Enrique (Eva) Duran, Rodrigo Duran Jr., Blanca Estela (David) Mendez, Dinora Duran, Efrain (Eveth) Duran, Paula (Jose) Perez, Norma Patricia Ramon, Rosalba (Sixto Javier) Cardona, Juan Diego (Antonia Mendez) Duran, Alonso (Giovanna De La Rosa) Duran, Valentin (MariCruz) Duran; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members, and friends.
Josefina is welcomed to heaven by her husband, Rodrigo Duran; parents; and siblings. A wake will be held at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission, followed by burial at Valley Memorial Gardens.
