Joyce Margaret Harvey

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Margaret Harvey (née Richards), a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, on July 1, 2026 at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, at the age of 95.

Born in London, England in 1930, Joyce immigrated to Canada in 1953 after marrying her Canadian husband, Alfred. She was the only child of Violet Speller and John Richards.

Joyce enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at the Jewish General Hospital where she took great pride in her work in the PACU and formed many lasting friendships. She had a warm and generous spirit. She found joy in sewing, knitting, gardening, bowling, attending the theatre, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Joyce was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Alfred and her eldest daughter, Gayle. She leaves behind a loving family who will treasure her memory: Her children, Susan (Jim), Ross (Christy) and Jo-Anne (Allen); her grandchildren, Mandy (Aaron), Chris (Alex), Jeff (Sarah), Alison (John) and Jen (Jake) and her great grandchildren, Charlie, Ben and Hadley who affectionately called her GG.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends and all whose lives she enriched.

Thank you to all of the kind and caring staff members of LeWellesley, the in-home care nurses and therapists, the dedicated teams in the Emergency Department and on 3W of the Lakeshore General Hospital and the compassionate staff of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence. Your care and attentiveness for Joyce over the last 2 ½ years has touched the family deeply.
