Joyce Ray Kintz

Joyce Kintz "Joy", 82, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at 3:05 a.m. at Sycamore Springs with her three children by her side.

Born in Lexington, Kentucky, on October 14, 1943, Joy spent her adult life in the Dayton area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia McClanahan and Harry Reed; her brother, Ernie; and her sisters, Alice, Brenda, and Cathy.

Joy is survived by her sister, Patsy, and her three children: Julie (Tony) Caserta, Tessie (David) Ganzsarto, and Jason (Laurice) Hodgson.

She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Angie Howell and Nikki Caserta (children of Julie and Tony Caserta), Celina Hodgson, Ashley Hodgson, Faith Hodgson, and Avery Hodgson (children of Jason and Laurice Hodgson), and Hunter Schond and Gavin (children of Tessie and David Ganzsarto).

Her great-grandchildren include Ryan and Jessica (children of Angie and Jessie Howell, Cason (child of Celina Hodgson), and Harlow Schond (daughter of Hunter and Zach).

Joy is further survived by her lifelong best friend, Gayle Marsh.

Throughout her life, Joy worked as a waitress for 25 years at Duke's Golden Ox and Dominic's. She later owned and operated a restaurant/bar in Springboro for 10 years. In her later years, she served as a dedicated home health aide with Alternate Solutions.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairhaven Church in Centerville, Ohio.
