Juanita Bonnie Brown

Juanita "Nita" went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 4, 2026. She was born on July 9, 1931 in Taft, California. Nita attended Taft schools through Taft College. After college graduation, she was employed by Chevron Corp. (Standard Oil at that time) and worked at the 11-C Camp in Taft. She had many fond memories of her friends and co-workers there. Nita and her husband, Joe, and their two sons moved to Bakersfield in 1963, and shortly after, she began working for the County of Kern, serving as senior secretary in the Auditor-Controller's Department. She enjoyed all 25 years of her employment there, retiring in 1992. She and the family made many trips, especially to Pismo Beach in their R.V. and summer days at Mount Hermon in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Nita loved sunsets, reading, beach walks, starry skies, and piano music, especially their "special song". Her husband Joe and sons Steve and Paul were her joy. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Joe Brown, and her children, Steve and Paul Brown. Her favorite scripture was Romans 8:38-39. She will be privately laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
