Junior Ray Denney, age 68, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away Monday at Greeneville Community Hospital.He retired from MECO and attended Central Baptist Church as long as his health permitted.Survivors include his sister, Kaye (Conrad “Connie”) GeFellers; a brother, Lyle Denney; nieces: Dana Saulsbury, Shana (Mark) Marshall, Alana (Brandon) Justice, and Kimberly (Andrew) Ferguson; 2 nephews: Jesse (Rachel) Denney and Kevan (Denney) Jeffers; several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins, including a special cousin, Jimmy Harrison; paternal uncle and aunt, Robert and Connie Denney; and special friends: Billy and Janice Barham, Sonya Higgs, and Dayton Easterly.He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin “Charlie” and Jean (Reaves) Denney; his wife whom he missed every day, Lynette Fawbush Denney, and a brother, Kenneth Denney.Per his request, no formal visitation will be held. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Tabor UMC Cemetery on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11am with his pastor, Brad Higgins, officiating.Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery.Pallbearers will be Mark, Conner and Camden Marshall, and Brandon, Hayden, Kason and Benson Justice.The family would like to extend its thanks to Margeaux Clements, FNP; Ballad Health Wound Care, and Amedisys Home Health nurses and therapists for the care that was provided to him over the last several months.Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.Online condolences may be sent to the family at http://www.kiserrosehillfuneralhome.com
