Karl Douglas Vass of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on August 17, 2026.

Doug was born on May 30, 1937, the only child to Julia Jones Vass and Frank Raymond Vass. He grew up in Wrightsville Beach, NC, attending New Hanover High School and Prep School at Presbyterian Junior College. He proudly served six years in the United States Army Reserves and had a long, storied career in the insurance industry.
