Karlene Marie Kennedy

Karlene Marie (Burnside) Kennedy, age 86, of Greenville passed away at 11:30 am Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

Karlene was born July 20, 1939, in Logan County, to the late Henry E. & Helen L. (Newland) Burnside. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Kennedy; daughter-in-law, Nona Kennedy; sisters, Joyce Fischer Williams, Phyllis Clem, Rita Hardman, Connie Hemphill, and Kay Harford; and brothers, Eldon Burnside, Gene Burnside, and Richard Burnside.

Karlene is survived by her children, Steven Kennedy of Bradford, David (Ruth) Kennedy of West Liberty, and Victoria (Mike) Goins of Arcanum; grandchildren, John Kennedy, Amanda Entingh, Nathaniel (Ricky) Willis, Scott (Jill) Willis, Tyler (Lacey) Thacker, Jesse (Whitley) Thacker, and Kyle (Ashley) Thacker; great grandchildren, Mason Willis, Gavin Willis, Austin Willis, Kierra Thacker, Jet Thacker, Jack Thacker, Dash Thacker, Aberrey Thacker, Lex Thacker, Lawsyn Thacker, Dutton Thacker, Starh Entingh, Katie Meyers, Wyatt Entingh, and Kiya Entingh; great great grandchildren, Liliy, Charlies, Liam, Arlo, Wynter, Williow, Harper, Sailas, and Arthur.

Karlene worked at Westinghouse in Bellefontaine and J.V. Products in Arcanum. She enjoyed reading, baking, and taking care of her flower beds and pots.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Drew Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Newcomer Cemetery in Franklin Township. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
