Kim Jay Hood

Kim J Hood, 72, of Montgomery AL, passed away on the 21st of August, 2026 in Sterling, VA.Kim was born Anchorage, Alaska to Lewis & Bille Hood on 28 July, 1954. He went to school at Biloxi High in Biloxi, MS. He married Lynna Miller on 15 December, 2001 in their home in Montgomery, AL. He always said he knew it would not be boring and Lynna did not disappoint. He worked as a furniture executive for most of his life, and in the last 20 years he worked as a civil servant as a Training Specialist for the Transportation Security Agency.Kim is preceded in death by his parents Lew & Billie Hood.Kim is survived by his wife of 25 years Lynna, his two children Michael (42) and Tayah (16), his daughter in law Samantha, his brother Lewis and his favorite and happy addition his granddaughter due in February. He told everyone he was going to be a grandpa.Kim elected to have a celebration of life rather than a funeral. His friends, and family were blessed with being able to share their love with Kim prior to his passing. It was exactly what he wanted. He loved them all so much. One of his greatest accomplishments was having 27 years of continuous sobriety. If you ever talked to Kim, inevitably the conversation turned to golf. He passed peacefully in his home with his family. He was a gift to all who knew him, especially in his last few weeks of life.
