Kristen Renae McDaris

Kristen Renae McDaris, 62, of Temple, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at a hospital in Temple.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Cross Church on Birdcreek in Temple with visitation one hour prior from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.

Kristen was born on January 15, 1964, in Temple, Texas, to Glenn Shirley Richards and Barbara Wynn (Westerman) Richards. She was a lifelong resident of Temple and a devoted member of Cross Church on Birdcreek. Kristen married Steve McDaris on March 20, 1993, in Austin, Texas, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and love.

Kristen enjoyed crafting, gardening, and spending time outdoors. She had a deep love for animals and found joy in caring for those around her. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Kristen was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Richards; maternal grandparents, Helen and Herman Westerman; and paternal grandparents, William and Glennie Richards.

She is survived by her husband, Steve McDaris of Temple; daughters, Brittany Jarvis and Brooklyn McDaris; mother, Barbara Richards; sisters, Kelli Richards and Kandace Porter; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve McDaris, Christopher Jarvis, Matthew Richards, Bob McDaris, Matthew McDaris, and Lamar McDaris. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimi Jessup.
