LeRoy "Tiny" W Leland

LeRoy “Tiny” W. Leland, 77, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away May 11, 2026. LeRoy was born May 24, 1948, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Kenneth and Donna (Retzlaff) Leland, and spent his life as a resident of Lincoln. He graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1966 and grew up alongside his two brothers, Dean and Rex.

Tiny started his working life with Pure Water where he made distillers. He then worked for the Department of Agriculture in the lab. He then took on several roles where he provided transportation to people of all ages until his retirement in 2015. He was a tour bus driver for Kinkaid Motor Coach, a school bus driver for Lincoln Public Schools, and ended his working career providing transportation for foster and special needs children. Tiny retired from Midwest Special Services in 2015.

LeRoy married Linda Schwartz in Lincoln, Nebraska, on May 11, 1985. Together, they made their home in Lincoln, where they raised their daughter, Michelle.

Tiny loved to bowl and served as President of the Men’s Bowling Association. He devoted time to quilts and leatherwork, making gifts for family and friends. He also enjoyed collecting and working with rocks — cutting and polishing them into something lasting and beautiful.

He also gave his time to organizations that reflected his commitment to service, including Post 131 VFW Auxiliary in Lincoln, the Red Cross, Civil Air Patrol, and Civil Defense.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Donna Leland and his brother Rex Leland. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Leland of Lincoln; daughter Michelle (Joe) Edgar, grandson William of Des Moines, Iowa; brother Dean (Jackie) Leland of Farmington, New Mexico; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 11:00 am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. The burial in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery will follow the service, with a reception back at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home immediately after.

The family requests memorials be designated to the family for future designation.
