It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Lester Whitebean, who left this world surrounded by the love of his family on May 2nd,2026 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.
Lester was a deeply loving, strong, and selfless man who always put his family first. He was the heart of our family—a devoted friend to Tasha, a proud and caring father to Lester, Tasha (Beauv), Lisa (Steven), Chris, Krystine (Shatere), Tiffany (Wendall), David (Shelly), and an incredible Baba to his grandchildren Briya, Destiny, Kylan, Bryson, Chase, Keanen, Jody and Logan. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he loved them with all his heart.
He found happiness in the simple moments, especially his Friday nights playing K103.7 radio bingo—something he never missed and truly looked forward to each week. It was one of the many little joys that brought him comfort and made him smile.
Through every challenge, Lester showed true strength and courage. Even in his hardest days, his love never wavered. His greatest wish was to be at home, surrounded by his family, and we are grateful that this wish was fulfilled. The memories we shared, the love he gave, and the lessons he taught will stay with us forever.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Lisa Skye for her compassion and guidance, to Tracey, Oliver and the homecare team for the care, comfort, and dignity they gave Lester in his final days, and to Dr. Bruemmer for his support. We also thank the Purple Ribbon for standing by our family during this difficult time. A heartfelt thank you to the Kahnawà:ke Ambulance for bringing him home safely, and to Kahnawà:ke Mobile for ensuring he never missed his appointments—we will always be grateful for your kindness.
Thanks to everyone, friends and family who have been helping us. You know who you are we won’t name names cause the list would be too long.
Lester will be missed more than words can express. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing he is now at peace. His love will live on in each of us, always.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kahnawake parlor from 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, until the end of visits on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for help to cover costs. Any cards can be given to his youngest son Lester Whitebean Cross Jr or his daughter Tasha Whitebean Cross.
