Lorene Theresa Trute Johnson

Lorene was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin in 1936. In 1958 she graduated from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. She went on to become a first-grade teacher, teaching for three years in Las Vegas, Nevada, one year in Lodi, California, and four years in San Bernardino, California.

Lorene married Rudy E. Johnson, an engineer, in 1966. After getting married, although she had a lifetime teaching credential, Lorene stepped away from teaching and was proud to become a full-time mother and homemaker. Together, they had two children and relocated to Sunnyvale, California, and then to Almaden Valley in San Jose, where Lorene spent the remainder of her life.

Lorene was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a follower of Jesus. She spent many years volunteering at church, teaching Vacation Bible School and serving in a variety of roles.

In 2009, Lorene was blessed with a grandson. She will be forever remembered for her warm smile and words of encouragement. Her favorite hobby was correspondence. She enjoyed writing cards and letters to people, staying connected and letting them know she was thinking of them.

When Lorene passed from this world to be with the Lord, she was in her own home, surrounded by love. No service will be held. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Teen Challenge at www.teenchallenge.net or to any charity of your choice in her name..
