Louise Matheny Squires York, 81, of Cary, died peacefully by her husband's side Thursday, May 28, 2026. She was born February 26, 1945 in Charlotte NC, the eldest child of James Williamson Squires and Eleanor Fessenden Squires. She attended Myers Park High School and Wake Forest University.She served as the Executive Director of the United Way of Randolph County and later as a real estate agent in Hampstead and Charlotte. She was a proud recipient of the Athena Award in 1987. She loved her time at the beach and large family gatherings as well as traveling and spending time with her friends and neighbors. She recently enjoyed attending Myers Park High School reunion class of 1963 and a trip to Hawaii with her husband.
