Margaret Elizabeth Szewczyk

Peggy was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on January 31, 1959, to Jesse and Norene Exposito. She graduated in 1976 from Union High School in New Castle, and received her Diploma in Nursing from Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing in 1979.Peggy was a nurse for 47 years. She began her career as a bedside nurse, blessing critically ill patients with her kindness and intelligence. When she was promoted to her favorite job of being a mother, she created a home full of joy, patience, and love. Peggy returned to caring for others as a nurse working in management of chronic health conditions for the remainder of her career.Peggy’s grandchildren were one of her most cherished blessings. She was able to meet her third grandchild a few days before her passing. She always had a warm smile and a silly joke to tell them. She would listen to their stories, watch their dances, and graciously accept all the drawings and hand-picked flowers (or weeds) they brought her. She loved to visit Disney with her girls and her grandbabies, and even completed multiple 5Ks at Disney with her daughters. Peggy was also a huge UNC Tar Heels fan. She could always be relied on to have a strong opinion about the latest game, and a disparaging remark about the Duke Blue Devils.Peggy will always be remembered for her compassion and care of others.
