Margarita R. Barrientos, 87, of Texas, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026. She was born on September 15, 1938, in Brownsville, Texas, to Erasmo Rodriguez and Modesta Coronado.
Margarita was a loving mother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family and appreciating the simple blessings in life. She found happiness in sitting outdoors, enjoying the scenery and fresh air, and relaxing while watching television. She had a warm and easygoing spirit that allowed her to find contentment in life's quiet moments.
A devoted Houston Astros fan, Margarita proudly supported her team through the years and especially admired Carlos Correa, whom she followed with great enthusiasm. Watching Astros games brought her much excitement and countless cherished memories.
Those who knew Margarita will remember her gentle nature, her love for family, and her appreciation for the little things that made life special. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
Margarita is survived by her beloved children, Maria Barrientos, Esmeralda Barrientos, Jose and Anna Barrientos, her grandchildren, Javier Lozano, Ana and Alfredo Ramirez, Steven Lozano and Diana Saavedra, and Ruben Limon, her great grandchildren, Angel Ramirez, Naya Lozano, Emily Lozano, Ruben Limon Jr and Robert Diaz. She also leaves her sister Olivia Rodriguez and her brothers, Ruben, Reynaldo, and Rogerio Rodriguez along with numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Barrientos, Sr, parents, Erasmo Rodriguez and Modesta Coronado and several brothers and sisters.
Though she is no longer with us, the love, memories, and legacy she leaves behind will remain a source of comfort and strength to her family.
