Maria “Angie” Hinojosa Hance, 85, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The evening before she was called home, a vibrant rainbow arched across the sky, appearing as if it were waiting to take her home.

Angie was a true servant of God, a fact evidenced by the very fabric of her daily life. She didn't just speak of faith; she embodied it by teaching everyone around her the true meaning of unconditional love. Her professional life was an extension of this ministry of care. Beyond her dedicated time in the ER, she served in a nursing home where she treated every resident as if they were her own family, often sharing her beautiful gift of song to brighten every celebration and milestone. Her career journey also saw her touching lives at a doctor's office, the WIC office, and various women's health clinics, where she was known for consistently going above and beyond to advocate for and assist those in need.

Faith and family were the twin pillars of Angie’s existence. As a woman who truly "loved love," she embraced the journey of companionship throughout her life, having been married six times. She was the undisputed life of any party, possessed of a radiant spirit that aimed to fill every room with contagious happiness and joy. To her children, she was the absolute rock and center of their universe. She provided steady guidance through a unique, empowering brand of love that encouraged independence and strength.

She leaves behind a vast and loving legacy that includes 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and a growing number of great-grandchildren. While spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest source of happiness, her family fondly remembers her independent streak; they often joked that "Grandma penciled us in," as she might occasionally cancel a visit if a more spontaneous and exciting adventure presented itself. Her laughter was legendary, and her smile had a way of lighting up a room that no one else could replicate.

Angie lived her life to the absolute fullest, viewing every day as an opportunity to learn and grow. She instilled valuable lessons in her children, frequently reminding them that "your life is what you make it, and you are the only one who can change it," and teaching them to embrace the flow of existence with the wisdom that "life is about changes; nothing ever stays the same." Though her life was filled with too many significant people to name individually, every person who crossed her path walked away feeling deeply and truly loved.
