Maria de Jesus Ramos

Maria de Jesus Ramos, lovingly known as “Chuchy,” passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born on October 13, 1930, in Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love, expressed through the many things she created for others.

She is survived by her brother, Raymundo Carrasco, and her children Briselia Manríquez (Héctor), Raymundo Enrique (Leticia), Elida (Víctor), and Armando (Gabriela). She also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Chuchy was a dedicated, industrious woman, deeply committed to her family. She studied pastry arts and dressmaking, crafts she transformed into acts of love: throughout her life, she created more than 40 wedding cakes and 18 wedding dresses, along with countless garments for those around her. Every stitch and every recipe was an expression of love that lives on in those who had the privilege of receiving it.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio Carrasco Carrillo and Maria Santos Alvarez Martinez; her siblings Hector Ignacio, Arturo, Aurora, Hilda Elena, Elida, and Aida; as well as her children Aníbal Manríquez (Elodia) and Ignacio Ramos (Nora).

Visitation for Chuchy will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a service at 6:00 p.m., at Funeraria Del Ángel Central, 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, Texas 79903.
