Maria D. Martin, 90, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, in West Palm Beach, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 16, 1936, in Unión de Reyes, Matanzas, Cuba, Maria spent her early years in her beloved homeland before leaving Cuba with her family. After living in Madrid, Spain, they immigrated to the United States in April 1974 in search of a new life and greater opportunities, ultimately making Florida their home, where she spent the remainder of her life surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and the family she cherished.
Prior to beginning her new life in the United States, Maria attended the Escuela Normal de Educación in Matanzas, Cuba, where she began her career as a teacher, a profession she dearly loved.
On June 26, 1957, she married the love of her life, Armando Martin, beginning a marriage that would span more than 50 years and become the foundation of a beautiful family legacy.
Above all else, Maria’s greatest joy was serving the Lord. Deeply devoted to her faith, she was a cherished and active member of her church family for many years. She found purpose in serving others and was a source of love, encouragement, and unwavering faith to all who knew her.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Armando Martin; her parents, Lucas Lopez and Edelfina Herrera; and her brothers, Lucas Lopez and Ramon Lopez.
Maria is survived by her brother, Orlando Lopez; her children, Armando Martin and his wife, Laura, and their children, Derek Martin (Brooke) and Ariel Martin (Bryce); Juan Carlos Martin and his wife, Luz Maria, and their children, Jonathan Martin (Alexa) and Chelsea Weniger (Jordan); David Martin and his wife, Staci, and their children, Daniel Martin (Logan) and Olivia Gerardi (Jake); and her daughter, Elizabeth Martin, and her son, AJ. She is also survived by many other beloved relatives and dear friends whose lives she touched through her kindness, faith, and generosity.
Maria’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family and her church will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
