Maria Pantea

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Pantea, who passed away at home on July 15, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born on Sept 5, 1935, in Romania, it was there she met the love of her life, her husband Aurel, and the two immigrated to New York more than 45 years ago. Together they built a wonderful life and raised two beautiful daughters. Maria worked as a clerk for over 20 years before moving to the New York area to be closer to family. She enjoyed visiting her homeland of Romania whenever she had the opportunity.

More than anything, Maria loved her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy. Her kindness, strength, and loving nature will be remembered by all who knew her.

Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aurel Pantea, and her parents, Ioan Mester and Anna Mester.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Lia (Mozher) and Daniela (Robert); her cherished grandchildren, Amira, Nawaf (Ainee), Sufian, Amanda (Tal), Cristina (Glenn), and John and great grandchildren Lily, Chase, Jack, Daisy, Nura, and Alya as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Maria's love for her family and the many memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
