Marilyn Anne Zorn

Marilyn Zorn, 80, passed away on September 15, 2026 at the Norton Hospital in Prospect Kentucky.

Marilyn was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 12, 1946 to the late William B. and Geneva M. Bowles and resided there until 1974. She is sister to Ronald (Karen) and Kenneth Bowles, and Jane Johnson (Chet). She is the beloved sister-in-law of Rita, Carlene, Marianne, and Patty. Godmother to nephew Matthew.

Marilyn first met David, her husband of 59 years, in the baby crib, their parents having known each other, but didn’t start dating until she was 16 when she met him again at a dance at McBride H.S.

After their marriage in 1967, Marilyn’s odyssey of supporting her husband’s employment endeavors began by eventually living in St. Louis, MO; Chicago, IL; Murrysville, PA; Richmond, VA; Houston, TX; Newtown Square, PA; and finally Crestwood, KY.

During this time, Marilyn gave birth to and raised four fine children, John David (Anne), William Alphons (Jennifer), George David (Zoe), and Virginia Clare (Patrick). She leaves five outstanding grandchildren.

Marilyn had a very loving disposition and was devoted to her husband and children, always wanting to help and nurture; tirelessly working as a homemaker, mother and wife. People who met her invariably described her as “sweet”, very sweet.

She was David’s Pollyanna.

Her maternal instincts led her to a career as a teacher of 2 year old toddlers for over 30 years at the Crestwood United Methodist Church Preschool (originally “Mother’s Day Out”). She loved those children and they loved “Miss Marilyn”.

The sadness of losing her is overwhelming.

Visitation for her remains will be on October 03, 2026 at 10:00 am before the 11:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Prospect KY. The mass will be live streamed on the Church’s website www.stb2008.org/media for all who will not attend.
