Marilyn Lucenta Meyer

21 avril 2026 Dignity Memorial

Meyer, Marilyn Lucenta (Peters), died peacefully on April 21, 2026, in her home at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, Florida, where she lived happily for many years. She was the beloved and loving wife of the late George J. Meyer, M.D.

Marilyn Meyer was born in Manhattan on May 13, 1936, the third child of Ernest and Fay Lucenta, who predeceased her. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank (Oneta) Lucenta of Tulsa, OK; her sister, Jessie (Fred) Cicchetti of Port Jefferson, NY, and her son, Robert E. DiSalvo of Juno Beach, FL. She is survived by her sister, Carol (Dominick) Venuti of Pompano Beach, FL, three stepchildren: G. Christian (Patricia) Meyer, Gainesville, FL; Rebecca (Glenn) West, Winston-Salem, NC; and Daniel Meyer, New Orleans, LA; as well as several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive her. The names of her numerous friends and grateful clients would probably more than fill this page.

Marilyn graduated from Columbus High School in the Bronx and attended New York University. As a young woman she won several beauty contests and modeled in New York City. She became an entrepreneur, and at one time owned and operated a Manhattan night club. She was a meticulous and renowned cosmetologist and hair colorist, who specialized in corrective cases, working initially in the New York City, Westchester County, and Greenwich (CT) areas. In the early 1970’s she moved to Florida, and for more than twenty years she operated her own salon (Marilyn’s Colours) in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Marilyn was an avid reader and follower of current events. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, travel, opera, movies, physical fitness, dancing, and dining.

According to her instructions, her body will be cremated, and the ashes interred with George at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida. Those who wish to offer a memorial may do so to their favorite charity.
