Marinka Novak

We sadly announce the passing of Marinka on May 5, 2026, with her family by her side.

Born February 15, 1946 in Slovenia and moved to Canada in 1969, where she married her husband Joe and raised her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children:

Sons: Robert (Anica) Novak and David Novak; Daughters: Nancy (Brad) Johnson and Julie Novak. Sisters: Cilka, Anica and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Slovenija.

Cherished grandmother of Ashley, Kylie, Hayden, Lindsea, Tristan, Riley, Holden, Haley, Conor, Logan, Noah, Eve, Lily, and Nina.

Proud great-grandmother of Josef and Pacey.

Marinka was predeceased by her husband Joe, father Venceslav, and mother Angela.

Also lovingly remembered by Karmen, who was like a daughter to her, and her dear friend, caretaker, and angel, Rhona, for giving her the care she deserved.

A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Assman's Funeral Chapel, 1908 Queensway, Prince George, BC.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 887 Patricia Blvd, Prince George, BC with Father Rectorino Mendoza Tolentino officiating.

A Graveside Service will follow at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, Prince George, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Hospice via Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society (https://pghpcs.ca/care/home-hospice/).

Marinka enjoyed golfing, gardening, and skiing but found the most joy spending time with her grandchildren.

A generous, caring, and loving soul – she spent her life taking care of everyone around her.
