Stan was born to Ernest and Montine Bell on a small rural farm near the end of Tallassee Road in Georgia. He graduated from Athens High School and attended Young Harris College before working in insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
He married Judy Davis in 1960, and they had a daughter, Tina, and a son, Robert. After Judy's passing in 1999, he married Suzanne Lockhart. Stan was known for his kind heart, mild manners, and devotion to family. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, his second wife Suzanne, brother Henry Clifton Bell, and daughter Tina McCowan.
He is survived by his son Robert Bell (Linda), grandson Elijah Bell, son-in-law Charlie McCowan, and daughters-in-law Kathy Lester (Robert), Cindy Hartman (Tim), and Cristy Lockhart.
The funeral service will be held in Athens, Georgia.
