In Loving Memory of Marshall Louis Resnick ("Poppy")

Marshall Louis Resnick, lovingly known to family and friends as "Poppy," passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at the age of 83.Born on December 2, 1942, Marshall grew up in West Orange, New Jersey, where he developed the strong work ethic, determination, and compassion that would define his life. He later lived in Coral Springs, Florida, while always maintaining deep ties to his family and New Jersey roots.Marshall was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife together for 27 years, Linda Resnick; his daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Michael Beckman of East Brunswick, New Jersey; his son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Kendra Resnick of North Caldwell, New Jersey; his step-daughter and son in law Roxanne and Tyler Schauer of San Diego, California; his sister, Enid Lutz; and his brother, Gilbert Resnick.While Marshall cherished all of his family, nothing brought him greater joy than being "Poppy" to his four treasured grandchildren: Corey Resnick ("Champion"), Connor Beckman ("Flash"), Jesse Beckman ("Jet"), and Sasha Resnick ("Precious"). He spoke of them with endless pride and love, and they were truly the center of his world. He was predeceased by his parents, Mitchell and Shirley Resnick, and his sister, Carol Resnick.Marshall dedicated much of his life to helping others. For more than 60 years, he worked tirelessly with Gamblers Anonymous, offering guidance, hope, and support to countless individuals struggling with gambling addiction. His commitment to this cause changed lives and left a lasting impact on people and families throughout the gambling addiction recovery community.A successful entrepreneur, Marshall built and operated a family business specializing in home security systems. Through hard work, integrity, and dedication, he provided for his family while earning the respect of customers, colleagues, and friends.Marshall was also a passionate sports fan. A lifelong supporter of the New York Mets and New York Giants, he remained loyal through every victory and heartbreak. His love for his teams never wavered, and he continued attending games through the 2025 season.Those who knew Marshall will remember his genuine good nature, generous spirit, unwavering loyalty, and genuine concern for others. Whether offering advice, sharing a story, cheering on his favorite team, or simply spending time with those he loved, he had a unique way of making people feel valued and cared for.Marshall's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the family he adored, and the lessons of kindness, perseverance, and service he leaves behind.He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
