Mary J. Buckelew

Mary J. Buckelew, age 88, of Montgomery, formerly of Hoover, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. She lived a life grounded in faith, compassion, and dedication to her family. A faithful member of Christ Methodist Church, Mary found great joy in her church community and cherished the friendships and fellowship she shared there through the years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas W. Buckelew; her children, Thomas Woodrow Buckelew Jr. and his wife, Melva, Ann Miller, and Rene Gilreath and her husband, Danny; her grandchildren, Christina Razick, Sara Buckelew, and Brad Hodges and his wife Rachel; and her great-grandchildren Laura, Thomas, Riley, Evan, Mason, and Izzy.

Mary will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her. Her legacy of faith, grace, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. The family appreciates the prayers, love, and support extended during this difficult time.

Friends and Family Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, on May 22, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, on May 22, 2026, at 2:00 pm, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be made to Christ Methodist Church.
