Together they shared a life filled with travel, laughter, treasured friendships, and countless adventures until Janice’s passing on June 5 of this year.Mike and Janice loved to travel and rarely passed up an opportunity for a road trip. They spent the winter months at their “home away from home”, Las Olas Beach Club in Satellite Beach, Florida, where they built lasting friendships with people from across the county. They also cherished time in the Smoky Mountains, exploring Colonial Williamsburg, visiting historic lighthouses, and discovering the places that brought history to life.Besides traveling, Mike also enjoyed bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and a lively game of Tri-Ominoes. He also had a pilot’s license. Mike was endlessly curious and happiest when learning something new, sharing a good book, or challenging family and friends to one more game.Although Mike was a quiet man, his greatest legacy was the family he loved and supported. Family meant far more to Mike than biology. He loved the children who came into his life as his own, and those who knew him simply knew him as Dad or Grandpa.
