Michael Berdin

Michael Berdin, 88, of New Albany, passed away on September 2, 2026. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Samuel and Josephine (Gresh) Berdin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Joseph Berdin.

Mike received his chemical engineering degree from Youngstown University, which is now Youngstown State, and his master's degree in business administration from Bradley University in Peoria. While in college, he was a member of the ROTC for 3 1/2 years in Youngstown. During his ROTC service, he was promoted to leader of the Persian Rifles Honor Guard.

He worked at B. F. Goodrich for 35 years, followed by employment at First Merit and Myers in Wadsworth.

He became a member of the masters bridge group, Knights of Columbus, and Jaycees. Additionally, he oversaw his children’s experiences through Indian guides and Indian princesses, and Boy Scouts. He was also active in the church as a member of Christian Family Movement, Christ Renews his Parish, Renew, Marriage Encounter, Eucharistic Ministry, Young at Heart, and other support groups.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Margaret; children, Cindy (Sean) Louisin and Kevin Berdin; siblings, Rose (Robert) Martin, Samuel Berdin, and Phyllis Hartman; and numerous extended family and close family friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 10am until 11am where a Mass will follow at 11am, at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E Dublin Granville Rd, New Albany, OH 43054.
