Michael Gerald Mixon

28 septembre 2026 Dignity Memorial

Michael Gerald Mixon, 71, passed away on September 28, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Born at Kindley Air Force Base on St. David’s Island, Bermuda, Michael lived a life marked by faith, hard work, adventure, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

Michael attended Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, Florida, where he played basketball, and later attended the University of Florida. Following college, he spent two years traveling throughout Europe, embracing the adventure and experiences that would become part of the rich story of his life.

After returning to the United States, Michael met the love of his life, Gabriela, in Pensacola, Florida. Together, they began building the life that would become his greatest accomplishment. Mike and Gabby eventually moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and in 1996 settled in Woodstock, where they raised their three sons.

A hardworking and determined man, Michael spent many years working in construction as a contractor. In 1998, he founded his own company, Mixon and Sons, building a business that reflected the values he held so deeply: dedication, perseverance, and pride in a job well done.

Beyond his work, Michael found joy in the simple things. He loved traveling with his wife, spending time outdoors, and camping with family and friends. He cherished the adventures and memories made along the way, but above all, he cherished the people he loved.

Michael had a deep and abiding faith and believed strongly in the value of hard work. These were not simply principles he spoke about… they were values he lived every day and intentionally passed on to his sons. His example continues through them and through the generations that follow.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Patricia Seeba; his father, James Lyde Mixon; his stepfather, Chris Seeba; and his beloved son, Brandon Mixon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gabriela Mixon; sons Donald Mixon and Matthew Mixon; grandsons Benjamin Mixon, Jacob Mixon, Braydon Mixon, and Dylan Hendrix; granddaughter Lylah Mixon; sisters Patricia McKittrick and Deborah Holloway; and brothers Sean Seeba and Chris Seeba, along with extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Michael leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind a family shaped by his love, his faith, his work ethic, and the example he set throughout his life. His legacy will continue in his children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

A Memorial Service will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home, Inc., 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188, US, on October 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
