Millard Lawrence "Larry" Clements

13 août 2026 Dignity Memorial

Larry led an amazing life and did many things during his 89 years. Growing up on a dairy farm, he learned the value of hard work and the importance of being responsible. He maintained this work ethic his entire life. He liked to say: “I never knew a man that worked himself to death”. He worked at Yellowstone National Park in the summers during college, where he met his future wife, Anne. Larry graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Forestry and then later with a Pulp and Paper Engineering certificate from Georgia Tech. He worked many years for various paper mills across the south until he retired from Nekoosa Paper Company in Ashdown, Arkansas. Years later, at age 77, he graduated from Texarkana College with his EMT certificate and although he never worked in that field, it was quite an accomplishment at his age.Larry and Anne traveled all over the world and had countless adventures with their “traveling friends” they met years ago in Cherokee, Alabama and his brother Bill and Carole Clements. He made numerous trips to China to import heavy equipment for his post retirement business. Larry and Anne spent many weekends on their houseboat at Lake DeGray where they enjoyed the peace and quiet and Larry fished and jetskied with his grandchildren. He also raised cattle for many years, Red Angus, who he referred to as his “girls”.Millard Lawrence (Larry) Clements, born on August 2 1937 and passed away on August 13.
