Martin Horvat

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Horvat, in Montreal, on December 21, at the age of ninety-three.

Martin was a loving husband for 63 years to Marija Horvat (nee Matjasec). Cherished father of Nadica Bernarda and Robert (Silvia Masciotra), beloved grandfather of Matthew and Vanessa. Predeceased by his brother Jozef (Rozina) in Montreal, his sister Gizela, brother Stefan and half-brother Ignac in Slovenia. He leaves to mourn his brother Matija in Slovenia, nieces Josie and Rosie in Montreal as well as many other relatives and friends both in Slovenia and Canada.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, December 28, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (prayer service to be held at 2:30 p.m.) at the J.A. Guilbault Funeral Home Inc., 5359 St. Michel Blvd. (below Masson), Montreal, 514 721-4925.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Vladimir Slovenian Parish, 3470 St. Joseph Blvd. East, Montreal and thence to Le repos Saint-François d’Assise Cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Vladimir Slovenian Parish.
