Olive Patricia Barrett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olive Patricia Barrett, affectionately known to many as Cherry, on August 31, 2026, at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, following her courageous battle with cancer.

Cherry was known for her vibrant personality, energy, style, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She enjoyed attending church, going out for dinners and outings, taking bus trips, attending picnics, and participating in any event she could. Cherry was also very social and had a remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, at any time.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who accompanied her to appointments, provided transportation, prayed for her, visited, brought food, and called to offer support. Special thanks are also extended to the caring staff of Lakeshore General Hospital and the compassionate team at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence for their exceptional care and kindness.

In true Cherry fashion, the family encourages everyone attending her Celebration of Life to dress to impress and dress to the nines.

Visitation will take place at Voluntas Commemoration on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m. (the service will also be livestreamed).

Burial will follow at Rideau Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m.

A reception will be held at Voluntas Commemoration from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
