Patricia Kaye Kirchner

Patricia Kirchner, 76, of Shepherdsville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at UofL Health–South Hospital in Shepherdsville, Kentucky surrounded by family.

Pat, also known as “Ma”, was born October 6, 1949, in Munfordville, Kentucky. Pat’s father relocated his family from Munfordville to Louisville, Ky for a position with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. while Pat was still very young. Pat went on to graduate from Fairdale High School in 1967 where she was voted “best dressed” by her classmates. In 1971 Pat married the love of her life, William (Steve) Kirchner. Pat followed in her father’s footsteps working for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. until she retired in 2000.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and aunt who enjoyed reading, puzzles (especially wordle), football, college basketball and most of all spending time with her family.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents John L. Murray and Viola Murray.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Steve Kirchner; her sisters Bonnie Davis (Roy) and Wanda Beauchamp; her children, Kim Browning (Donnie) and Jeff Kirchner (Ruth); grandchildren, Kirsten Kirchner, Liam Kirchner, Chris Browning (Courtney), Cory Browning (Whitney), Savannah Brown (Hunter); and great-grandchildren, Ayden, Trinity, Gavin, Ireland, Kynzie, Aubrey, Zach, and Bristol.

In addition to those listed above, Pat touched the lives of many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends. She will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m., immediately following the visitation. Memorial gifts may be made to any of Pat’s favorite foundations; St. Jude, Hosparus, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
