Pearl Harris was the daughter of the late Hezekiah & Rosie Sprinkle. Pearl Was 97 years old. She was born June 29, 1929, in Louise Mississippi, in the region known as the Delta. She was one of 12 children. She accepted the Lord, Father God at an early age where she was Baptized in the biblical way, outside, in a River.
Pearl attended elementary & High School in Humphreys County Mississippi. She later happily married Curtis Lee Harris in 1948 & moved to Indianapolis, Indiana and started their family. Pearl was a loving adoring mother of six beautiful children.
As a kind, loving generous spirit, Pearl was a natural at helping others. She worked as a Nurses Aid from 1973 -1990 at St. Paul Nursing Home. She was honored & praised on a daily basis for the loving professional care she provided. She knew how to lift people up and bring the sunshine in on a cloudy rainy day. She worked there until the Nursing home closed.
Pearl then retired and became a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, playing checkers and reading her Bible. Momma also loved & nurtured everyone within arm’s reach to include the various pets she had. Momma provided delicious, soulful home cooked meals, love, laughter, and prayer. She gave you what you needed to face each day. Pearl walked in faith. She loved her husband and family very, very much. She was a positive motivating force in the life of her family. But more than anything, Pearl loved the LORD!! She was a Prayer Warrior. Pearl spoke with & prayed to the Lord Daily. Hers was a deep personal relationship. Some of her favorite gospel songs were The Mighty Clouds of Joy, I’ve Been in the Storm Too Long & Mahalia Jackson’s, Precious Lord. She kept the entire family lifted in prayer and on notice.
Pearl transcended & went to be with the Lord, September 12, 2026, in Indianapolis Indiana.
She was preceded in death by Her father & mother, Hezekiah, and Rosie Sprinkle, her husband, Curtis L. Harris & Her son, James C. Harris, Her 11 siblings. and three grandchildren, Donshey D. James, Da Juan C. Leonard and DeLisha Harris.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Ricky Harris, (Detra), Shirley Harris, (Marlon), Tammy Berry, Jeffrey Harris, Debra Harris (Raymond), Marilyn Harris-Thomas, 18 Grandchildren, and a extended family of Great & Great Great Grandchildren.
The family rests soundly in the knowledge that she is in Heaven at peace with the Father GOD. To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.
Mama, we all love you and will miss you so much. You will forever be in our hearts, souls, and memories. as we continue to honor your wish. Until we see you again. Jesus Wept…
