

Pekin, Philip Randal Mayberry, 60, passed away at 5:40 p.m. September 13, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on December 26, 1965, in Pekin, to Gary Arthur and Carol Sue (Tucker) Mayberry, who preceded him in death.
Phil is survived by four children: Jessica Mayberry, Matthew (Crystal) Mayberry, Lydon Mayberry, and Ryah Mayberry, all of Pekin; three grandchildren: Spencer Lynn, Alexis, and Myckaela Sue; one brother: David (Korine) Mayberry of Morris; twin sisters: Heidi (Matt) Mamer and Holly (Scott) Webster, both of East Peoria, along with an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
He was a 1984 graduate of Morton High School, wrestler at school for four years, and an avid wrestling fan following Iowa wrestling. He also coached wrestling at Tremont for many years.
Phil worked for Iron-A-Way for 42 years, last as a manager, and previously as a warehouseman for Farm & Fleet in Morton.
His passions included hunting—particularly turkey hunting—mushroom gathering, and outdoor activities. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the National Rifle Association. Phil was very family-oriented, enjoying gatherings with loved ones.
A visitation was held on September 18, 2026, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with a funeral service afterward. Burial was at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
