Rebecca Rissen passed away at home August 19, 2026. She was born April 30, 1948, growing up in Topeka, Kansas. For most of her adult life she lived in Indianapolis, having worked most recently for Heritage Life Insurance Company as a CPA.
Becky was known as a no-nonsense professional, ahead of her time as a woman in the insurance industry. She also was a member of and sang in the choir at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church.
She leaves a son, Derek Rissen, a sister, Janice Bradbury, and a cousin, Matthew Van Kirk and his son Andrew. She enjoyed the company of family and numerous friends and loved traveling to European destinations as well as to the Rocky Mountains, Colorado and Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Wyoming, in particular in the United States. She also visited her parents, Lester and Katherine Trendel, in Topeka, Kansas during their lifetimes.
She will be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, 418 E 34th St, Indianapolis, IN 46205, on September 1, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am, with reception to follow.
