Renan Danilo Castro Canals (known as Danilo), 89, of Miami, Florida, passed away on September 5, 2026.
Born on March 17, 1937, in El Cobre, Cuba, Renan Danilo Castro was the son of Julio Castro and Maria Canals Casanovas. Throughout his life, he was known for his kindness, intelligence, hard work, and dedication to family.
Danilo Castro graduated from the Instituto de Segunda Ensenansas as a certified surveyor. He went on to study medicine in Havana. Upon emigrating with his family to the United States in 1971, he worked as a building superintendent in the Bronx and on Long Island, and as an elevator operator and doorman in Manhattan. He and his wife Ana Gloria moved to Miami in 1987. Along with his wife, he liked to spend time with family and to travel, particularly cruising to Europe and Latin America.
He is survived by his daughters Ana Maria Castro and Gloria Lynch and by his grandchildren Anthony Spinoccia, Conor Lynch, and Samantha Hulverson. Renan Danilo Castro was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Ana Gloria Castro and by his sons Danilo Dario Castro and David Enrique Castro.
