Richard Harold Felter

2 août 2026 Dignity Memorial

It is with profound sadness that the family of Richard (Rich) Harold Felter announces his passing on August 2, 2026 at the Age of 83. Born on June 14, 1943, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Rich was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from high school before beginning a lifetime of service.

Rich’s greatest joy was his family. He shared a lifelong marriage with the love of his life and best friend, Amelia (Amy) C. Felter, whose passing on November 13, 2025, left an immeasurable void in his heart. Together they built a life centered on love, devotion, and family. Their children were blessed by the example they set, and their family finds comfort knowing they are together once again in heaven with the Lord.

Rich is survived by his son, Scott Felter, and his daughter, Kellee Lombardo, who will forever cherish his love, guidance, and steadfast support throughout their lives.

Rich proudly served his country through 23 years of continuous military service from May 17, 1962, through May 31, 1985. He began his career in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves before completing eighteen years in the United States Coast Guard. As a Vietnam War Veteran, he served with honor, courage, and unwavering dedication in Vietnam patrolling, replenishments, and in battle on the High Endurance US Coast Guard Cutter Adroscoggin.

Following military retirement, Rich began a second career with Lockheed Martin, where he worked from 1985 until formally retiring in 2005. He continued for periods as a contractor until he decided to fully retire in late 2010.

Outside of work, Rich enjoyed collecting Harbour Lights lighthouse replicas, developing a collection that reflected his appreciation for lighthouses and their history. He was also a devoted Florida Gators fan and enjoyed cheering on their football, basketball, and baseball teams but enjoyed football the most.

Rich will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, kindness, and steadfast devotion to those he loved. His legacy of honor, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
